Old Ones, Art in public space, 2024
Stone objects, dimensions variable
8 cnc-milled traces in 6 pieces of Wachenzeller Dolomite
Staller Sattel – Passo Stalle IT/AT
The project is based on the fact that the processes of earth’s history, both temporally and spatially, do not care about human-made borders, such as those between countries. A series of imprint-like fossils, in six natural stone slabs, is embedded in the ground in three places at the boarder between Italy and Austria.
The project was accompanied by a workshop with elementary school children of Antholz and Defereggen. It was documented in a publication under the title of ‚Grenzen überwinden, Steine ins Rollen bringen‘. The site-specific intervention is part of the initative ‚Kunstorte‘ by the Raiffeisenbank Bruneck, curated by Lisa Trockner. Workshop and publication were financed by Interreg (EU).
